Leigh Griffiths says he is prepared to prove his worth once again and earn his place in Brendan Rodgers' new-look Celtic side.

The on-form striker scored 40 goals last season and received the Ladbrokes Player of the Season award.

After winning over previous boss Ronny Deila, the forward is ready to do it all over again under the Scottish champions' new boss.

He said: "Every manager has got their different opinions and different things he wants to try, and the style and philosophy he wants to play football, and I'm just hoping that I fit into that."

But the former Hibernian forward had a turbulent start to his Hoops career, as former boss Ronny Deila preferred using teammates Anthony Stokes and John Guidetti to spearhead his forward line.

Griffiths has since learned from his time on the bench and is determined not to be pushed down the pecking order again.

"It took me a long time under Ronny to force my way into the squad," he said.

"Hopefully it doesn't take as long with the new gaffer but if it does, I'll do the exact same. I'll bide my time and when my chance comes I'll take it with both hands."

Former Hibernian and Dundee attacker Griffiths played as a lone forward for the majority of Deila's tenure but he says he'd have no issue adapting to a different formation.

He said: "If that's the route he wants to go down then that's something that I'm going to have to adapt to. I've played with two up front but for the majority of last season I played with one.

"I was a lone striker and I felt free up there, I didn't have to do a lot of chasing back as such and I just had to concentrate on the two centre-halves, but if the gaffer wants to change things up, we're going to have to work a lot harder."

Griffiths was present to see thousands of fans head to Celtic Park to witness Rodgers' unveiling and he is looking forward to working with the former Liverpool manager.

He added: "I saw him in the hallway downstairs, he just said hello and he said I'm looking forward to working with you next season and, you know, likewise.

"It will be a good appointment for not just me but the whole team. Everyone's got a clean slate and everybody will be looking to impress when we come back into pre-season."
