Motherwell trio extend stay at Fir Park as Vigurs pens new ICT deal
Craig Samson, Craig Moore and David Ferguson have all signed up for another season at Motherwell.
Craig Samson, Craig Moore and David Ferguson have signed fresh one-year deals with Motherwell to extend their Fir Park stay until 2017.
Moore and Ferguson both return from loan spells with Ayr and Alloa, Annan and Airdrie respectively, whilst last season Samson provided back-up for Connor Ripley in goals, making only two starts for The Steelmen throughout the campaign.
Speaking to the club's website Mark McGhee said: "Sammy [Craig Samson] was superb all season long and only failed to get in because of Connor Ripley's form, but I have faith in him.
"Craig Moore has been fantastic for Ayr and we've been watching him regularly. He'll come back in pre-season and make a strong pitch to be a regular for us.
"David has also been out on loan and his performances there and with the Under 20s are deserving of a deal. Like Craig, he'll start pre-season with us to stake a claim to be a regular at Motherwell.
"We've still in advanced discussions with several other players and hope to conclude deals shortly."
Meanwhile former Steelmen midfielder Iain Vigurs has agreed a new two-year contract with Inverness CT.
He told the club's official website: "The squad is taking shape and when key players are all signing on, it's always good to see that.
"I'm glad to have got my contract done and dusted. I thoroughly enjoyed getting back to playing last season and although we never got the top-six (finish) that we wanted, we finished strong. We now need to look to kick on from that next season."
Chairman Kenny Cameron said: "Iain is another of the players we had offers out to before the end of the season and it is great to see so many key squad members committing to the club for the longer term.
"It's vital we get as many of the core squad re-signed as possible so that when the new manager comes in they have a good platform to build on."
