I couldn't be happier ahead of shot at history says Ricky Burns
He'll face Michele di Rocco in a bid to become Scotland's first three-weight world champion.
Ricky Burns says he couldn't be happier with his preparation ahead of his shot at history in the Hydro this weekend.
The 33-year old will take on Italian Michele di Rocco for the WBA super-lightweight title in a bid to become Scotland's first three-weight world champion.
The Coatbridge fighter, who already has super featherweight and lightweight titles to his name, hasn't competed in front of a Scottish crowd in almost two years.
His last bow came when he was defeated by Montenegro fighter Dejan Zlaticanin in June 2014 at Braehead Arena.
Burns has stepped up in weight for Saturday's fight and believes he's in good shape ahead of the weigh-in at Glasgow's St Enoch's Centre at the end of the week.
"I'm really looking forward to it, preparation has went well," he told STV. "I've moved up a weight division again.
"I was trying to stay a bit bigger - obviously the week before a fight you do start cutting down but the weight's just seem to fall off again so I'm doing it comfortably.
"I couldn't be happier with the way things are going with a couple of days to go.
"We've been training hard since the start of January, I'm in really good shape for this. Sparring has been good, the countdown is on now, there's only a couple of days to go."
