Darren McGregor hopeful Hibernian can keep Alan Stubbs at the helm
The defender says Stubbs is the one best managers he's worked under in his career.
Hibernian defender Darren McGregor says he's 'delighted' head coach Alan Stubbs has intimated his desire to stay at the Easter Road club.
Stubbs was linked with moves to both Blackburn and Bolton earlier this month after failing to clinch promotion to the Premiership with the Edinburgh side.
The ex- Wanderers defender was touted as one of the favourites to replace his former team mate Neil Lennon in the Trotters dugout but the Scouser has since played down the potential of a move closer to home.
McGregor paid tribute to his current manager following Hibernian's historic Scottish Cup 3 - 2 victory against Rangers.
He said: "You can see why there would be potential clubs sniffing around, the gaffer could go into any club and maximise his potential.
"He's a great character, he's got great personal skills, his rapport with the players is second to none."
He added: "For me there's always that worry when you do well and Hibs being a feeder club, if you like, if you get a bigger club that wants a player or a manager and more often than not if you're compensated, they go.
"For me to hear that he wants to stay, I'm delighted, because obviously he's brought me here and I owe him a lot.
"As a manager, I think he's top notch and one of the best I've worked under."
Stubbs was appointed as Hibs head coach in June 2014 and has one year left on his contract.
