Townsend: Glasgow Warriors didn't play well enough to win semi-final
Glasgow Warriors' Pro 12 defence was left in tatters after the loss to Connacht.
Glasgow Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend admitted his side didn't play well enough to beat Connacht on Saturday evening.
The Scotstoun side lost 16-11 in Galway, ending their Pro 12 defence at the semi-final stage and capping a disappointing season for Warriors.
Townsend confessed after the defeat that his team came up short in Galway and deserved the result that was handed to them.
"We are disappointed we didn't play our best game when it was required," Townsend said to BBC Scotland.
"When it comes to a semi-final or final you have to play very well to win and we didn't do that today.
"In attack we just didn't have the control or the patience to hold onto the ball, to go through that extra phase in the first half."
