Andy Murray has avoided Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal in his half of the French Open draw, but could face defending champion Stan Wawrinka in the semi-finals.

The British number one will face a qualifier in the first round when the competition gets under way next week, but could face a tricky match in the quarter-finals should he get there.

World number six Kei Nishikori has landed in Murray's quarter, with the two players recently playing a five set epic in the Davis Cup earlier this year.

Murray will be looking to improve on his showing at Roland Garros last year, when he reached the semi-finals only to be knocked out by Djokovic in five sets.

The Dunblane ace has enjoyed a successful clay court season so far, winning the Rome Masters last week and also making the final of the Madrid Masters the week before.

Roger Federer's withdrawal due to injury opened up the draw, moving Nadal up to fourth seed, with the Swiss set to miss his first Grand Slam since the 1999 US Open.
