Rangers striker Kenny Miller admits the build up to next weekend's Scottish Cup final has been one of the strangest he's experienced before an important game.

The squad haven't played a competitive fixture for a fortnight while their opponents Hibernian are in the midst of a heavy play-off schedule.

Mark Warburton's side beat a Spurs XI 4-3 in a closed doors friendly this week but have had to juggle a different training schedule for the last two weeks.

Miller says it's not the build up he is used to before a big game, but believes the break was well earned by the Championship title winners.

"It's strange, it's definitely been a different build up to a huge game than what I've had before," Miller said.

"Normally you'd have games until at least until a week beforehand, so it has been a little bit strange having this break but I think we needed a rest.

"I think it was eight games we had in April so that rest and recovery we had at the start of the month was overdue."

Rangers will book their place in the second round of Europa League qualifiers if they clinch the Scottish Cup next Saturday and it's an incentive that Miller believes will drive on everyone in team.

He continued: "It's a huge opportunity for us to win a major cup for the first time in a few years and obviously that will lead to the Europa League qualifiers so there's a lot at stake.

"It's a great opportunity for everybody, including myself, there's no getting away from the fact it's been a good season so far but we want to really finish on a high.

"The chance to achieve European football, with the manager, in this team's first year together would be a fantastic end to a really good season."
