Inverness Caley Thistle boss John Hughes has been named the Ladbrokes Premiership Manager of the Month after leading his side to three wins and a draw in April.

The Highlanders enjoyed victories over Partick Thistle, Kilmarnock and Dundee United along with a draw against Hearts. Their only defeat was at the hands of Motherwell at the start of the month.

It is the first time Hughes has secured the personal accolade this season - he won it twice last year during Caley Thistle's triumphant campaign which saw them finish third and book a place in Europe.

Their run of games last month secured their safety in the Scottish Premiership and moved them away from the relegation play-off spot.

The Caley Jags' run of form took a dip on Friday though, losing 3-2 to 10-man Dundee United at home. Next up for them is a visit to New Douglas Park on Wednesday to face Hamilton Accies.
