East Stirling began their quest to retain their Scottish League Two status with a 1-1 first-leg draw against Lowland League champions Edinburgh City.

City went ahead in the 15th minute when Dougie Gair scored from the penalty spot following a handball.

But East Stirling levelled two minutes before half-time, Max Wright converting from close range.

Both sides ended the match with 10 men after Joe Mbu (Edinburgh) and Reece Donaldson were sent off late on.
