Erik Sviatchenko on dancing, two titles in 11 months and Leicester
Danish defender would love to face international team-mate Kasper Schmeichel in Champions League.
Erik Sviatchenko is in the mood for dancing.
The Danish defender recently became a father and is about to claim his second league title in 11 months to cap off an incredible season on and off the field.
It hasn't all been plain sailing for the 24-year-old during his whirlwind five months in Glasgow, which have featured Hampden defeats to Ross County, Rangers as well as Scotland.
However having arrived in Scotland after winning the league crown with FC Midtjylland, Sviatchenko delighted Celtic's travelling support with a celebratory dance following the 3-1 win over Hearts as the Hoops all but secured their fifth successive Premiership trophy.
Claiming inspiration from The Beatles' Twist and Shout, Sviatchenko won't rule out showing off some more moves should they beat Aberdeen on Sunday.
He said: "It was pure joy and I see the dance everywhere. I will try to figure something out, it will just be how I feel that day."
Ronny Deila will bow out as Celtic boss after claiming his second league championship and the winter arrival admits the atmosphere has been slightly unusual since the Norwegian's departure was announced.
"It was bit of a strange feeling when it happened but we are professional and we want to end with some good results. We have a good working relationship. We have faith in the board to find a good replacement."
Sviatchenko is likely to be a key player for Deila's replacement after impressing in Scotland and previously in the Europa League.
"In 11 months I will have won the Danish championship and now I'm here really close to winning the Scottish one. I came here to win something and be remembered for being a part of a team that wins something," he said, recalling the emotions of the campaign.
Leicester City's stunning English Premier League title success has been the talk of world football with Claudio Ranieri's team set to face Celtic in the International Champions Cup this summer.
Retaining their title allows Celtic another opportunity to reach the Champions League group stages and the former Viborg youth was asked about the prospect of facing the Foxes in Europe's top club competition.
"Leicester have been great in the Premier League and has done something people wouldn't have imagined they could do. If we face them then it would be nice. Kasper Schmeichel would be playing, he will be staying there now to play in the Champions League and I've congratulated him by text and he's a happy guy."
A short summer break in Denmark with his partner Anne Rudmose and their baby beckons before pre-season begins on June 18.
Sviatchenko is relaxed about the quick turnaround and is excited about the challenges he will face next term.
"I want to be in the Champions League, that's why I came here" he said.
"We have one goal and that's to go through. I know we can be a Champions League team and we'll do everything we can to flourish and go through."
Having made all the right moves so far, Sviatchenko will be hoping Celtic continue to take the lead at home and abroad in 2016/17.
