Ray McKinnon 'bats away' questions over Raith Rovers future
Raith Rovers boss McKinnon insists his focus lies with promoting his current side
Ray McKinnon insists he's solely focused on Raith Rovers' promotion bid, despite being named as the bookmakers' favourite for the Dundee United job.
The Dundee-born boss led his side to a first leg victory over play-off rivals Hibernian after substitute Harry Panayiotou headed home in the 74th minute, meaning Raith take a 1-0 lead to Easter Road.
Following the first leg triumph over Hibs, McKinnon, who was named Championship Manager of the Month for April, played down the idea that speculation affected his preparation heading into the fixture.
"It hasn't been difficult at all. I'm totally focused on this job" he said. "You can add questions, I'll just bat them away."
The former United midfielder has been linked with the vacant hot seat at Tannadice, following Wednesday's dismissal of Mixu Paatelainen.
"My focus is on Raith Rovers - and trying to get to the Premiership" McKinnon added after the match.
On Thursday, the Stark's Park boss collected his second individual prize of the campaign with his team extending their unbeaten run to 12 games.
