Partick Thistle boss Alan Archibald signs new three-year deal
The Jags management duo are the longest serving in the Scottish Premiership.
Partick Thistle manager Alan Archibald and assistant Scott Paterson have signed new three-year deals to keep them at the club until the summer of 2019.
The pair stepped in after Jackie McNamara moved to Dundee United in January 2013 and were appointed on a permanent basis two months later.
Managing director Ian Maxwell has also committed by putting pen to paper on a new long-term deal that will keep him at Firhill for the same length of time.
Archibald, who won promotion in his first season in charge, led the Jags to a 10th place finish on their return to the Scottish Premiership. They then built on that last year by finishing eighth.
Thistle remain in danger of slipping into the play-off zone this season but sit six points clear of Kilmarnock with three games remaining.
Chairman David Beattie, who appointed the trio, told Thistle's official website: "Undoubtedly there have been bumps in the road, but both Alan and Scott have taken everything in their stride and risen to the challenges very effectively.
"No one should be in any doubt that Partick Thistle means business. Following three and half years of constant progress, growth and development, we are now in a stable position to build something really special here over the next three seasons.
"That means that not only do Alan and Scott have the Board's full backing but we will also give them all the resource we can to ensure we go one step better next season and grab a top six spot with both hands.
"This club is in the strongest position it has been in for as long as I can remember, on and off the pitch. It is imperative that we continue to build on this.
"That's why we believe Alan Archibald is the man to take us forward in the league, backed up by a strong club structure run by Ian Maxwell."
