Raith Rovers captain Jason Thomson says Jason Cummings is wrong to believe they are running scared of Hibernian ahead of the Premiership play-offs.

The Stark's Park club face Alan Stubbs' men in the first leg of the quarter-finals on Wednesday where they will battle it out to play Falkirk in the next round.

At the weekend Cummings said: "If anything, the other teams will be scared to play us. I wouldn't say any of the teams would want to come and play us. So that puts us in a good mind set as favourites."

Thomson admits Raith will go into the fixtures as underdogs but welcomes the confidence being shown by the Hibs striker.

"For me it's just another game of football," the defender laughed off. "I'm scared of things like my missus, not games of football.

"He's right, they are going to be favourites over the course of the play-offs so that might put a bit more pressure on them and not as much on us.

"The manager has certainly used the squad over the last month or so, rotating things, and we've still managed to get results.

"We'll go into the game on Wednesday and make sure we still have something to play for on Saturday and we're not ruling ourselves out of the tie after one leg."

Raith Rovers are at home for the first meeting on Wednesday and will make the trip to Easter Road for the return leg on Saturday.
