Mark Warburton: No room for prima donnas in Rangers dressing room
Rangers boss says he won't sign a technically gifted player if they could disrupt his squad.
Mark Warburton says there's no room for prima donnas in the Rangers dressing room as he targets summer recruits.
As the close approaches and a step up to Premiership football looms, the Rangers boss is looking to add to the spine of his squad.
While one of the themes of Warburton's reign has been an emphasis on youth he insists he won't compromise on a player with a bad attitude, even if they technically gifted.
The Rangers boss said: "If they're top class player and a poor fit for the dressing room, I wont take them, simple as that.
"If we've got a player that's a top European talent but spoils that dressing room, we wont take him, there's no grey areas for us on that.
"The players have worked really hard, we've worked hard to get the unity right, it's good place to come and work, the environment's right here.
"If that player's inappropriate or dilutes the quality of that environment, he wont be welcome here."
Ahead of the club's final league match of the season against St Mirren, Warburton says talks have started with out of contract players with movement made on signing targets.
The 53-year-old added:"Work's been done already.
"If a player becomes available that we can secure and think is better than what we've got - the best players demand that competition.
"A lot of work's been done in the last few weeks, a lot of work's being done right now and hopefully we can move swiftly when the season ends."
