More options in the final third are a priority for next season, according to Partick Thistle manager Alan Archibald.

The Jags, who have the lowest goals tally in the top flight, narrowly missed out on a top six finish and are now aiming for a win against Inverness Caley Thistle to guarantee avoiding the relegation play-off spot.

Archibald says he's keen to start building for next season once their Premiership status is secure.

"I think we need to strengthen the final third and be more creative," he told STV.

"You just have to look at the league table and see how many clean sheets we've had this year, on the other side of that we're the league's weakest goal scorers.

"We need to help improve that area, that's not an aim at Kris Doolan who's had a fantastic goal record again this year.

"It's about creating more chances and getting goals from other areas of the pitch as well."

A number of out of contract players have been linked with a move in the summer, including Steven Lawless, Stuart Bannigan and Abdul Osman, however Archibald insists he's not aware of any players planning to head for the exit.

"I think the players have always been open with us here," he said. "If they've got anything else lined up they've always made us aware.

"I think it was a few weeks ago that a couple of teams asked to speak to them (Lawless, Bannigan and Osman).

"I think that's as far as it went, I think they had a chat but I don't think anything's been done."

The Partick Thistle trio were linked with a move to Inverness Caledonian Thistle earlier this year.

Caley manager John Hughes told STV that a deal is unlikely, saying: "The three guys that we've been linked with at Partick, maybe Banningan is out of the picture but I have spoken to Osman and Lawless.

"The way it's working out right now I think we have to put the reins on it because I don't think we have the finance to do that, which is a little bit disappointing."
