Three Scottish runners have been selected to represent Team GB at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Brothers Callum and Derek Hawkins and Tsegai Tewelde, who claimed asylum in Glasgow after coming to the UK from Eritrea, will compete in the marathon in Brazil this summer.

Callum Hawkins, 23, was the first British athlete to finish in the London Marathon at the weekend, finishing eight with a new personal best of 2:10:52.

Tewelde finished 12th in the London Marathon, becoming the second Briton to cross the line.

He told STV News: "I feel excited and very happy. It was quite hard, when I was running I thought 'am I finishing or am I collapsing?'"

Callum Hawkins said: "It's brilliant, I got the new this morning. It's not hit me fully quite yet but I'm over the moon."

Derek Hawkins finished the London Marathon in 14th place.
