Changes at Celtic won't affect Robbie Neilson's summer transfer plans
Hearts boss ready to start making player moves with short close season ahead
Robbie Neilson insists the changes at Celtic this summer will not affect his own plans for re-shaping the Hearts squad.
With Ronny Deila leaving Celtic Park at the end of the season there will be upheaval at the Glasgow giants with a new manager coming in and new players being bought.
Neilson is close to finalising his plans for the Hearts squad for next term and said the promotion of Rangers has already put pressure on him to raise the standards at Tynecastle.
Reflecting in Deila's decision to resign later next month, Neilson said: "It's always disappointing to see a manager lose their job.
"Ronny came in and won two titles but these things happen in football and he's decided to move on.
"I've no doubt he'll pick up a good team and be back doing well again.
"It all depends on what Celtic want to do over the course of the summer - who they bring in and what they do with their budget.
"Rangers coming up will put pressure on all the teams to try and compete more.
"From our point of view, we need to make sure that our budget is set no matter what the other teams do, and that we make the most of it."
Hibernian and Rangers competing in the Scottish Cup final has allowed Neilson to set his pre-season plans in stone, as Hearts will now certainly begin their Europa League qualification campaign on June 30.
The players will get four weeks off before reporting for duty on June 15, with no friendlies planned before the qualification round first leg.
That means Neilson hopes to do all his transfer business as early as possible to ensure a full squad ready to take on continental opposition.
The head coach said: "I've known for the last three or four months exactly where I want to recruit.
"We've got a lot of names and we're getting closer to getting some people in.
"I would like to get it done as early as possible. It is really important that we get them all in here for the first day back at pre-season because it is not a long pre-season to build things.
"In the next couple of days we'll look at the [current squad] and let them know what our thoughts are - whether they will be staying, going or what their position in the squad is next year.
"I've got a meeting on Friday with Ann Budge and Craig Levein to discuss all of that."
