Lee Clark ponders formation change in bid to get Kilmarnock scoring
Josh Magennis and Kris Boyd could start in final pre-split game against St Johnstone.
Lee Clark admits he's pondering a change in formation for Kilmarnock's final pre-split fixture against St Johnstone in a bid to get his team scoring again.
The Ayrshire side sit 11th in the table following a 0-0 draw with Partick Thistle last time out and have only found the net once in six matches since Clark's arrival.
Kilmarnock, who are the Premiership's lowest scorers with 30 goals from 32 games, have favoured a 4-2-3-1 system under Clark and his predecessor Gary Locke. But the Englishman says he has been working on alterations as they aim to put pressure on 10th place Hamilton.
Josh Magennis made his return from injury in the closing stages at Firhill with Kris Boyd playing as a central striker and former Birmingham boss Clark says he will consider pairing both players for Saturday's game at Rugby Park.
While happy with the progress his team have made in terms of fitness and organisation, the 43-year-old wants his men to be clinical in front of goal.
He said: "We're looking at different formations during the course of the week to try and change that and to see if that would give us something a little bit different to the way we're taking things on at the moment.
"Our consistency and performances have been high but now we have to turn those consistent performances into victories as we need to win games."
