League Two wrap: East Stirling end losing streak, Stirling battle back
A review of all five matches from Saturday's Scottish League Two action.
Bottom side East Stirling claimed their first point from six games as they held Berwick to a goalless stalemate at Ochilview Park.
The away side had the best chance to get on the scoresheet in the opening exchanges but Darren Lavery's close-range effort that was heading for the bottom corner was held out by Darren Dolan.
Down at the other end, John Fraser sent his shot wide and Ross Fisher's header missed the target before Blair Henderson came close with two chances for the Black and Gold.
Lavery was again close to breaking the deadlock for the visitors after the break but sent his long-range effort wide before team-mate Jonathon Fairbairn's header sailed over the bar.
The Shire struck back with chances of their own through Michael McMullin and Kristopher Faulds but neither side was able to get a breakthrough as the spoils were shared.
Steven Doris scored his 12th goal of the season in all competitions as Stirling held Queen's Park to a 1-1 draw.
The hosts had a brilliant opportunity to break the deadlock when they were awarded a penalty in the 27th minute after Paul Woods was brought down by Stirling goalkeeper Chris Smith.
But Smith made amends for conceding the penalty, keeping out Woods' spot-kick before saving the rebound to keep the scores level.
Queen's Park found themselves in front two minutes before the break when Chris Duggan made the most of a mistake from Ross Forsyth to charge forward and fire his team ahead.
The Binos levelled things up in the 63rd minute when Doris found the bottom corner of William Muir's net from the middle of the box.
East's Fife's League Two title bid was strengthened by a 1-0 victory at Arbroath.
Jason Kerr gave the visitors the lead after 25 minutes when he struck from close range. Ross Brown played the ball back into the area after a corner and the bounce left the Arbroath defence confused and Kerr was able to tap home.
Three minutes into the second half Jonathan Page went close to adding to East Fife's lead but Arbroath scrambled the ball off the goal line.
The visitors had already done enough to take all three points with a win which stretched their lead at the top of the table to four points while Arbroath are 10 points clear of the bottom.
The spoils were shared following a dramatic 3-3 draw in a topsy-turvy match between Clyde and Montrose at Broadwood Stadium.
The away side took the lead after 13 minutes with their first shot on target as Adrian Mallagaray fired Ross Campbell's cross into the bottom corner for his seventh goal of the season.
The Bully Wee struck back just seven minutes later as Jordan Kirkpatrick - whose attempt on goal moments earlier was kept out by Montrose goalkeeper Jordan Millar - made no mistake second time around as he picked out the bottom-left corner to level matters.
Midfielder Kirkpatrick struck the bar just before the hour mark as the hosts continued to press and their efforts paid off as Scott Durie fired the ball into the top corner to hand his side the lead after 66 minutes.
But Terry Masson levelled matters for the second time with a close-range equaliser before Gary Fraser's goal handed the away side the lead at the death.
However, there was still time for a late twist as Scott Linton converted a penalty - after Jamie Clarke brought down John Gemmell - three minutes into added time to rescue a point.
Brian Cameron netted a late penalty as Elgin came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw against Annan.
Annan were on course to leapfrog third-placed Elgin with a second successive away victory courtesy of goals from Josh Todd and substitute Smart Osadolor in 11 second-half minutes.
But Elgin pulled a goal back in the 77th minute through Kyle MacLeod's header before Cameron slotted home from 12 yards after Ben Jago fouled Dylan Easton in the area.
Both teams ended the game with 10 men as Marc McKenzie and Matt Flynn were sent off at the death.
