Mark Warburton admitted that his Rangers side should have seen out the win at Raith Rovers to clinch the Scottish Championship title.

The Govan side were minutes away from winning the second tier trophy, securing promotion to the top flight, only for Harry Panayiotou to net a stoppage time equaliser for the hosts.

Rangers will now have to wait until Tuesday to clinch the title, when they play Dumbarton at Ibrox.

Warburton confessed that his side should have collected three points for all their attacking success, commenting: "I'm frustrated.

"We came to a difficult place, they've had seven wins out of nine, and we've scored three goals.

"That should be enough. We have to defend our goal better. "

"We don't concede those goals if we take care of the football higher up the park. It's not about a defender or a defensive unit, it's about us as a team.

"To come here and score three should be enough, but it wasn't today. We have to learn from it and do better on Tuesday.

"We have a job to do [on Tuesday]. Dumbarton won't lie down. They're a good team, they're well managed, resilient and hard working.

"So we have to prepare well and hopefully in front of a packed Ibrox we can deliver the performance that gets the players the rewards they deserve."
