Billy King says it will be good to win the Scottish Championship for himself rather than rely on other teams' results, like he did with Hearts last season.

Rangers can win the title and promotion to the top flight on Saturday with victory over Raith Rovers, coupled with a Hibernian draw or defeat to St Mirren.

King won the Championship with Hearts last year, with a Rangers win over Hibs securing the triumph for the Tynecastle side.

The on loan forward spoke about that title win and how it would compare to winning the Championship with Rangers this season.

"Last season  Lee Wallace scored the winner and sealed it for us," he said.

"We were all watching the game and obviously it was great scenes.

"We now just need to concentrate on Raith Rovers and winning that game and seeing what happens. We won't take anything for granted.

"Raith will be a tough game and you would expect Hibs to win as well, so we'll just take it from there. If Hibs win we'll just take it on to Tuesday night."

King refused to be drawn on whether he sees his long-term future at Ibrox, insisting: "I've not really thought about that to be honest.

"I'm just concentrating on Rangers just now, winning the league and doing my best until the end of the season. I'm not too busy thinking about the future.

"At the end of the season I'll speak to Robbie Neilson, but as far as I know I'll be going back to Hearts."
