Gordon Strachan: Age not a factor in deciding Scotland readiness

Gordon Strachan insists that age isn't a factor when deciding whether a player is ready for the international stage with Scotland.
Teenagers Kieran Tierney and Oliver Burke could make their Dark Blues debuts against Denmark on Tuesday night as Strachan experiments with his squad.
Tierney in particular has enjoyed a rapid rise this season, making himself a first-team starter for Celtic at left back, with Burke also impressing at Nottingham Forest.
Strachan subscribes to the mantra that states if you're good enough, you're old enough and won't hesitate in playing the duo if he feels they're ready.
"You can only be successful at international level if you’re playing as part of a successful team - then you are ready for international level," he said.
"The squad has evolved. I’ll keep players who are still useful and can help this squad. It doesn’t matter if you’re Gordon Greer at 34 or 35 or Oliver Burke at 18, it doesn’t matter to me what age you are, as long as you’re fit and your thought is how to make Scotland better.
"It doesn’t matter what age you are."
However, Strachan hinted that he might not start too many debutants from the beginning against Denmark, preferring to phase them into his lineup.
"I think when you’re making your debut it’s good to have experienced players around you," he said.
"I don’t think it’s great to have a lot of inexperience around you when you’re making your debut."
