Lee Wallace accepts top flight football might aid his Scotland case
The Rangers left back missed out on Gordon Strachan's Scotland squad this week.
Lee Wallace acknowledges that playing top flight football next season could boost his chances of being called up to the Scotland squad.
The Rangers left back missed out on Gordon Strachan's squads for friendlies against Czech Republic and Denmark, despite being tipped for a call up.
Strachan admitted that Wallace was unlucky to miss out due to the number of left sided options currently available to the national team.
Wallace understands the decision not to include him and recognises the argument that he might need to play in the Premiership to force his way into the reckoning.
"There's no relevance in me talking about or wishing I can be there," he said.
"I can totally take that argument where you have to be playing at the top level in your country to be in with a chance of being selected for the national team.
"But when Rangers do get back to the top flight, for me it's not about looking at that road, it's about how we can keep moving forward and that's European football.
"We're not too far away from completing the first set of goals. Once we do go up, there'll be another set of goals unleashed that myself, my team-mates, the manager and the coaching staff will attack with all guns blazing.
"The only true relevance is how best I can contribute to the club that I'm playing for and love playing for every single week."
