Hibernian boss Alan Stubbs remains optimistic despite a string of disappointing results, saying his side are still on course to achieve their aims across three domestic competitions.

The Championship side, who are still in both the League Cup and Scottish Cup, saw their title challenge take a hit after three consecutive league defeats in a week.

Falling to Morton, Dumbarton and Queen of the South allowed leaders Rangers to open up a 14 point gap, but Stubbs doesn't believe their dream of automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership is over yet.

"We've obviously had a disappointing week in terms of results but the bigger picture is that we're still on target to achieve everything that we want to do," he said.

"In order to come through the week, and not get the results, but still be able to achieve what we want to achieve, it's not all doom and gloom."

Hibs face Scottish Cup holders Inverness Caley Thistle on Sunday looking to book their place in the semi-finals of the competition.

The fixture comes just a week before they take on Ross County in the League Cup Final at Hampden and Stubbs is hoping they find their form ahead of the important fixture schedule.

"I've said it all along, I could have been standing talking about three wins last week, that's how close they've been," he added.

"Unfortunately we've been on the wrong end but we go into Sunday knowing we have to put another performance in but change the result."
