Substitute Harry Forrester's late strike gave Rangers the win over St Mirren and stretched their lead to 11 points at the top of the table.

Light Blues striker Kenny Miller missed a sitter from three yards out in a stodgy, goalless first half and the home side huffed and puffed after the break.

However, with four minutes remaining Forrester - on for Jason Holt - curled a shot past Buddies goalkeeper Jamie Langfield to clinch the win.

With second-placed Hibernian losing at Dumbarton, the Govan side look in a commanding position in the title race. But it was not the greatest performance by Mark Warburton's men.
