Aberdeen striker Adam Rooney will miss six weeks of action after suffering a thigh injury.
The 27-year-old was ruled out of the Dons' matchday squad for the Scottish Premiership clash against St Johnstone on Saturday.
Derek McInnes confirmed that Rooney had suffered a tear in his thigh and now faces being sidelined for the next six weeks of action.
The injury could hit Aberdeen's title chances, with the Pittodrie side currently just seven points behind Premiership leaders Celtic.
Rooney has scored 19 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions this season, netting three times in his last two outings.
Simon Church started up front for the Dons against St Johnstone.
