Celtic's UEFA Youth League conquerors out after penalty 'miss'
Valencia were knocked out of the competition by Chelsea after officials' blunder.
Celtic's UEFA Youth League conquerors Valencia have been knocked out of the competition in controversial circumstances after a blunder by officials during a penalty shoot-out.
The Spanish side put Celtic out of the tournament on penalties earlier this month on spot kicks after an entertaining clash at Celtic Park.
That result ensured they would face Chelsea in the last 16 of the competition and the game went down to the wire after a 1-1 draw in normal time.
Alberto Gil stepped up first for Valencia and despite beating goalkeeper Bradley Collins and hitting the net, the ball hit the stanchion and bounced out.
The officials ruled the kick as a miss and despite protests, Chelsea went on to win 5-3 and take their place in the quarter-finals.
