Willie Collum's exile from refereeing Scottish Premiership fixtures is to continue for another two rounds of games.

The official, who has been criticised for a number of high-profile blunders in recent months, was not given a top flight appointment last weekend.

Instead, he was the man in the middle for the Championship game between Raith Rovers and Livingston.

He will continue to referee in the second tier this week, taking charge of Falkirk's home match with Queen of the South, and has also been denied a top flight game when a full midweek card is played on March 1 and 2.

Instead Collum, who will represent Scotland at Euro 2016, will officiate at the Championship game between Dumbarton and Alloa Athletic.

The referee was heavily criticised for his recent handling of Inverness' win over Aberdeen.

With the match poised at 1-1, the official awarded a second-half penalty against Ash Taylor despite little apparent contact on Ross Draper, and Greg Tansey fired home to put Inverness ahead.

Collum further angered the travelling Dons fans after confusion when Carl Tremarco's goal was initially disallowed before the decision was reversed after consulting with linesman Graham McNeillie

He then dismissed calls for two different Aberdeen penalties when Taylor was pulled down and Lewis Horner fouled Graeme Shinnie

Collum was also dropped for two weeks in January last year after seeing two red cards in consecutive games overturned on appeal by a judicial panel.

At the time, Scottish FA sources stressed it was not unusual for their top referees to go for a stretch without Premiership matches, or even to be rested altogether.

The referee has refereed at 28 domestic matches so far this season, 17 of which have been in the Premiership.

To date, he has had six appointments in the second tier. The most high profile came in December, when he awarded Falkirk a penalty for a foul which occurred outside of the box in their home win over Rangers.

Collum has also taken charge of three UEFA Champions League games, as well as Euro 2016 qualifying matches in Denmark and Azerbaijan.

Of the 33 matches in total he has officiated at this season at home and abroad, he has shown 99 yellow cards and five reds.
