Ex-Real Madrid midfielder leaves St Johnstone without contract
Julien Faubert was on trial at the McDiarmid Park club last week.
Former Real Madrid midfielder Julien Faubert has chosen not to sign for St Johnstone after a week on trial at the Perth club.
The 32-year-old played 45 minutes against Hearts in a development squad match last Monday but will now consider offers from elsewhere.
Manager Tommy Wright confirmed Faubert has attracted interest from the United States but 27-year-old ex-Slavia Sofia centre back Plamen Krachuno will remain on trial at McDiarmid Park for a few more days.
He said: "Julien has gone back, he has had a couple of offers, I believe one in America and another offer.
"I fully understand why he has gone. He did extremely well here, a really good professional but there are a couple of other options, maybe warmer climates are more attractive.
"Plamen Krachuno is here for another couple of days, which he was originally booked in for."
St Johnstone take on Partick Thistle at Firhill on Tuesday night after the original fixture was postponed on Boxing Day because of a waterlogged pitch.
