Rangers striker Ryan Hardie has joined Raith Rovers on an emergency loan deal.

The 18-year-old has moved to Ray McKinnon’s side for 28 days to aid their push for a Championship promotion play-off spot.

Hardie, who was handed a new two-year-deal at Ibrox earlier this season, was one of featured players in STV’s Remember The Name series in December.

After scoring twice in six matches last season, the form of Martyn Waghorn has seen the forward restricted to just four first-team appearances this term.

Raith have lost the services of Jon Daly and Craig Wighton in recent weeks with Mark Stewart their current top scorer with six goals.

Hardie could make his debut against Livingston this Saturday.

Earlier this season, Raith Rovers complained that Hardie would be eligible to play against them after he returned early from duty with Scotland Under-19s.
