Jamie Walker says Hearts deserved criticism for their Scottish Cup collapse against Hibernian, but the winger is now even hungrier for Tuesday's derby replay.

The Jam Tarts conceded a two-goal lead in the fifth round clash against their city rivals, setting up tomorrow night's rematch at Easter Road.

Walker feels Hearts have prepared well for the clash, but reflected on how his side should have made it into the next round at the first time of asking.

"In any game when you're winning 2-0 with 10 minutes to go, you should see the game out," he said.

"But fair play to Hibs, they put us under a lot of pressure and I think they deserved the replay.

"As an Edinburgh boy I know what it means to the supporters and everyone around the town for the bragging rights.

"We've prepared well all week and we're ready to go over there and get into the next round."

Walker has played just two games since suffering injury in October, and had been in line to feature against Partick Thistle on Saturday - only for the fixture to be postponed.

But the winger doesn't believe the extra rest will give Robbie Neilson's team much of an advantage.

"It gives us an extra rest over Hibs, but for me it would have been good to get some extra game-time under my belt before the derby," he said.

"It's been a long time out. I started the season as I ended last season, but getting injured is just part of the game.

"I think I'm still a little bit away. I'm working hard in training to get fit but it's not the same as playing in games.

"That's why I would have liked to play on Saturday."
