Robbie Neilson believes the Hearts fans have still to see the best of new goalscoring sensation Abiola Dauda.

The Nigerian striker netted two goals in four minutes on Wednesday in his side's 3-0 win away to Ross County in the Scottish Premiership.

It was his second appearance for the Tynecastle club, having made his debut in the Edinburgh derby Scottish Cup tie last weekend.

While Dauda has made an instant impact on the Hearts faithful, the head coach says there's more to come from the 28-year-old.

"He's a good player, we knew that when we signed him," Neilson said. "He was the main target in the January window and we were lucky enough to get him.

"I think his fitness levels could probably improve because he hasn't played a lot of first-team football for 90 minutes.

"He's played 20 minutes, 30 minutes here and there, but over the course of the next three or four weeks we'll see the real value of him."

Arnaud Djoum has made quite the impression at Hearts since joining in September, scoring a stunning strike in last week's Edinburgh derby draw against Hibernian.

Now the midfielder has set his sights on making an even greater impression, insisting that the Jam Tarts can catch Celtic at the top of the Premiership table.

"I don’t think they are going to win all the games, they will drop points, and when they do we have to win our games," he said.

"We still have a chance, we need to believe in it. We need to continue to win as many games as possible."

Hearts recovered from their collapse in the Scottish Cup against Hibernian - when they lost a 2-0 lead - with a win over Ross County on Wednesday.

Djoum said Hearts must learn from the manner of the draw against Hibs, saying:"That was a good lesson," he said.

"We talked about it after the game that this kind of thing cannot happen again anymore.

"We know now that when we are 2-0 up we just need to continue playing our game."
