Dundee goalscorer Kane Hemmings has been awarded the Ladbrokes Premiership Player of the Month prize for January.

The Englishman netted five times in five games for the Dens Park side last month, including a late equaliser agianst Motherwell to win a share of the points in a 2-2 draw.

Hemmings goals also helped sink Dundee United in the New Year derby, Partick Thistle and then Falkirk in the Scottish Cup.

His flurry of goals takes his tally to 16 in 26 appearances for Paul Hartley's side who sit sixth in the table with 30 points.

They weren't able to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup on Saturday, but remain in the hat for Monday evening's draw after a 0-0 with Dumbarton. The replay will take place in Dundee on Tuesday, February 16.
