It's still unknown whether James McFadden will seal a deal to move to MLS side Philadelphia Union, but Motherwell manager Mark McGhee has welcomed him to stay longer at the Fir Park club if it doesn't materialise.

McFadden is currently in his third spell at the club with his contract is due to finish at the end of the month. He could be set for another short-term deal if his future is yet to be sorted across the water.

Speaking of across the water, Rangers' Fraser Aird could be heading west on a plane. The Canadian has been linked with a move to MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps on loan.

Kevin Thomson, meanwhile, is another player who has rejoined a former club. He's back at Hibernian and has been speaking to STV Sport about his third spell at Easter Road.

Dundee United trialist, Romanian defender Andrei Cordos, scored for the development squad on Tuesday, while Henri Anier netted two on his arrival back at Tayside. His loan spell with Hibs was ended after the festive period.

In other transfer news, Dan Twardzik has departed Motherwell, Ross County have secured the signing of Paul Quinn and young keeper Aaron Lennox has joined Aberdeen.

Meanwhile, Celtic continue to be linked with Manchester City youngster Patrick Roberts and look to be closing in on a deal for the teenager.
