St Mirren sign Ross County midfielder Rocco Quinn on short-term deal
The 29-year-old will be available to play against Raith Rovers on Saturday.
St Mirren have secured the signing of Ross County midfielder Rocco Quinn on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old, who was midway through his fifth season at the Highland club, was released ahead of his contract expiring in the summer.
Prior to his stint with the Staggies, former Celtic youth prospect Quinn enjoyed two seasons at Queen of the South.
He has been a regular for Jim McIntyre's side but missed nine games earlier in the campaign with a muscle injury. He was also forced to sit out the majority of last season with a hip problem.
Speaking to St Mirren Radio, Quinn said: "It all happened pretty quick, Wednesday or Thursday I got a phone call from my agent saying St Mirren were interested and I'm here today signing.
"Speaking to the manager here and his plans for the club, the way he wants to take the club forward, I think that was a big factor in it. There were a few things he said that made me quite interested and excited about coming here.
"He seems to have a good plan in place and there is a lot of good players at this club so I'm just happy to be here and looking forward to getting started.
"I’ll bring experience and I’ll be giving nothing less than 100% for this club and these fans. I’ll be looking to bring a lot to the table."
Quinn scored two goals against St Mirren in Ross County's 5-4 defeat in Paisley three and a half years ago. He also netted against the Buddies during a loan spell at St Johnstone in 2008.
The arrival of the midfielder comes a day after St Mirren released Mark Ridgers. The goalkeeper left the club through mutual consent.
Quinn will go straight into the squad for Saturday's Championship fixture at home to Raith Rovers.
