Six in ten Scots believe Jeremy Corbyn is doing "badly" as Labour leader, a new poll has shown.

The survey of 1,006 Scottish adults by YouGov shows Corbyn, who is currently facing a leadership challenge, is polling badly amongst the public.

A total of 58% of Scottish adults judged the Islington MP as performing badly in his duties.

The Labour leader's polling figures worsen amongst his party's own supporters in Scotland. The poll indicates 66% of Scots who voted Labour at the last general election think he is not performing well.

The polling figures also make for uncomfortable reading for the Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale.

Just a quarter of Scots believe Dugdale is doing a good job in her role.

More of her own party's supporters believe the Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson is doing a good job than Dugdale.

Davidson is more popular amongst her own supporters than Nicola Sturgeon is amongst SNP supporters. A total of 88% of Conservative voters in Scotland feel Davidson is doing well, 84% of SNP supporters believe Sturgeon is performing well.

Sturgeon's polling ratings have improved since the last poll was carried out by YouGov.

In May, 59% of Scots believed she was performing well. This has grown to 62% in July.

Voting will close on the Labour leadership election on September 21.
