Stephen Crabb has announced that he is running to be the next leader of the Conservative party.

The Work and Pensions Secretary emailed Tory MPs on Tuesday to announce his candidacy.

The MP for Preseli Pembrokeshire has launched his bid with Business Secretary Sajid Javid as his number two.

On Friday Mr Crabb said he was "deeply saddened" at the news of David Cameron's decision to step down as Prime Minister.

The 43-year-old is supported by MPs Simon Hoare, Maria Caulfield and Craig Williams.
