The latest UK-wide EU referendum poll has put the Leave campaign ahead with a week to go until the vote.

The survey by Ipsos MORI for the Evening Standard shows the pro-Brexit campaign in the lead by a margin of six percentage points.

In April, the same pollsters found support for Remain on 53% with Leave trailing behind by six percentage points on 47%.

Ipsos MORI's latest poll has found a reversal of the position, with Leave now ahead by the same margin.

This is the fourth EU referendum poll from across the UK to put the Leave campaign ahead.

The three other polls which began asking voters there opinion on the referendum question on June 10 showed the Vote Leave campaign on 54.1%, 52.7% and 53%.

STV's own poll by Ipsos MORI on Scottish voters showed Remain firmly ahead but losing ground on its rivals.

Between April and June support for the EU had decreased by 13 percentage points with voters moving to both Leave and undecided.

Voters across the UK will go to the polls next Thursday to decide if Britain should Remain or Leave the European Union.

It is only the second referendum on Britain's membership since the country joined the then European Economic Community on January 1, 1973.

Referendum night coverage will begin on STV at 10pm with rolling updates from Scotland presented by Bernard Ponsonby.
