Nigel Farage and Bob Geldof face off in Thames naval battle
MPs gathered on a nearby terrace to watch the incident unfold.
UKIP leader Nigel Farage and singer Sir Bob Geldof clashed on the river Thames outside Westminster on Wednesday.
A flotilla of pro-Leave fishermen had been planning to sail up the Thames in support of Brexit and in protest of the EU's Common Fisheries Policy for a number of weeks.
The campaign photo-call was however sabotaged by Boomtown Rats' singer and charity campaigner Sir Bob Geldof who brought along a rival pro-Remain armada.
A fracas ensued with Geldof gesturing towards the boat carrying Farage while playing KWS' hit song 'Please Don't Go' and 'In With the In Crowd' by Dobie Gray through loudspeakers.
After Prime Minister's Questions ended a number of MPs gathered on the House of Commons' terrace to watch the incident unfold.
The rivals campaigns exchanged water cannon in the heart of the capital.
Scottish UKIP MEP David Coburn was also aboard Farage's ship which was the jewel in the Leave armada.
The EU Referendum campaign also moved to dry land with the UKIP battlebus parking on Westminster Bridge blasting 'The Great Escape'.
A smaller band of pro-Leave vessels is expected to arrive in Glasgow on Friday.
