Sturgeon addresses SNP MPs following Hosie resignation
The SNP leader will later attend a pro-EU event with Plaid Cymru and Green Party members.
SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon will address her MPs in London on Monday, a day after Stewart Hosie MP resigned as deputy leader.
Hosie's resignation came in the wake of allegations that he conducted an affair with a political journalist in London.
The Dundee East MP apologised "for any hurt and upset I have caused to friends, family and colleagues" in his resignation letter to Sturgeon.
The MP, however, cited health reasons primarily for his resignation.
Hosie said he had been admitted to hospital three times over the past "few years" and was resigning to "to concentrate on my constituents, my responsibilities at Westminster, and most importantly, my health".
A successor to Hosie will be chosen at the SNP's autumn conference. Nominations for the post will close on August 5.
The MP has since separated from his wife - SNP MSP and health secretary Shona Robison - after 20 years of marriage. Robison is a close friend of the SNP leader.
Sturgeon will later join the Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood and the Green Party's sole MP Caroline Lucas at a pro-EU event. The trio will highlight the "social benefits" of EU membership such as maternity rights and health and safety provisions for workers.
The group will later release a joint statement on the importance for Remain supporters to use their vote at the referendum on June 23. The deadline to register to vote in the election is June 7.
The trio will say: "As parties who share progressive values, a belief in equality and in protecting our environment we believe that membership of the EU is an important part of embedding the rights and protections we rely on."
