The latest opinion poll for the Scottish election puts Scottish Labour and the Scottish Conservatives neck-and-neck for second place.

The poll by Survation for the Daily Record shows just a one percentage point difference between the parties in both the constituency and regional votes.

In the constituency section Labour are ahead of the Tories while in the regional section the Tories polled above Labour.

This survey is also the latest in a trend of opinion polling to indicate the SNP look likely to form a majority government for the second time.

When the results are entered into the Scotland Votes seat predictor the Tories would leapfrog Labour into second place.

A second seat predictor has the parties tied on 21 seats.

On the basis of this opinion poll Cutbot are forecasting that David Coburn could become UKIP's first MSP.

The survey's results are also welcome news to the Scottish Greens.

If the poll was replicated on election day it would hand the party its largest number of seats and share of the vote. They would overtake the Lib Dems as the fourth largest party despite them increasing their own share of the vote from the 2011 election.
