Women who died while swimming at beach named by police
Karolina Katarzyna Pisarska and Luiza Koniuszy went into the water late at night.
Two women who died after going swimming at Aberdeen beach have been named by police.
Karolina Katarzyna Pisarska, 36, and Luiza Koniuszy, 22, got into difficulty after going for a late-night swim on Friday, April 19.
Emergency services were alerted at around 12.45am.
The women - who were originally from Poland but living in Aberdeen - were pulled from the water by a lifeboat crew and taken to hospital, but couldn't be saved.
Chief Inspector Martin Mackay said: "Formal identification has now taken place and both women's families have been informed.
"My thoughts are with them at this incredibly sad time."
