A major north-east road has been closed after a fire broke out at an industrial estate in Aberdeen.

Thick black smoke can be seen for miles as firefighters tackle the blaze on Skene Road that broke out at around 3pm on Saturday.

Emergency services, including police officers and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are currently in attendance.

The A944 is now closed in both directions as a result.

It is closed Eastbound at its junction with B9119 and Westbound at Kingsford.

Motorists are asked to take alternate routes where possible.

There are no reports of any injuries at this time.
