A footballer who was injured in a match between Aberdeen and Cove Rangers has been given the all clear and discharged form hospital.

Cove midfielder Jordon Brown was treated by paramedics on the pitch after he clashed heads with another player during a match on Sunday.

The match at Balmoral Stadium was abandoned following the incident in the second half, and Brown was taken to hospital.

Cove Rangers later issued an update on Brown's condition.

The team said: "Jordon suffered a head injury as a result of an accidental clash of heads with Aberdeen FC player Andrew Considine, in the 50th minute of todays game.

"The club would like to report that Jordon has been assessed by the medical team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, his scans are all clear and he will be discharged this evening and monitored over a further 48-hour period.

"We'd like to thank the medical staff from both Cove and Aberdeen FC, police and ambulance crew who attended to Jordon in a speedy manner.

"This has undoubtedly led to the best possible outcome."
