Penguins take over city to raise funds for cancer charity
The 76 penguin statues around Tayside are individually designed and hand painted.
A trail of 80 penguin sculptures has appeared in Dundee to raise funds for cancer charity, Maggie's Dundee.
The trail of individually designed painted penguins will be live all summer, ending in a grand farewell event in Slessor Gardens in September.
Children across the city will also be decorating smaller sized penguins that will join their friends on the trail.
On September 24 they will be put on auction to raise half a million pounds to run the Maggie's centre for another year.
Artists across Tayside have spent the last few months decorating the sculptures, and even Scottish band Simple Minds joined in the fun.
The band said the charity is close to their hearts.
"The band have all been touched by cancer in some way," said band member Ged Grimes.
"We're playing a show in Dundee later this year too, so it just seemed fitting to get behind Maggie's and sponsor our penguin."
