Half a million pound investment for Aberdeen city centre
Work is set to begin on improvements to city's Schoolhill area.
More than half a million pounds has been awarded to improve an area of Aberdeen city centre.
The council's city growth committee has set aside £550,000 to enlarge the pavement outside Aberdeen Art Gallery and Cowdray Hall in a bid to make the area more welcoming and accessible for pedestrians.
Two-way traffic will be maintained along Schoolhill as part of the proposals.
The slip road outside Robert Gordon's College is also being retained, but will be modified to fit the new street layout.
Councillor Marie Boulton said: "These are exciting times for Aberdeen as we start to see an acceleration of plans in line with the city centre masterplan vision.
"The work approved today will enhance the setting for the Art Gallery, which is undergoing its own £30m transformation."
