Thousands expected to flock to Aberdeen Highland Games
The games get under way from 10am on Sunday at Hazlehead Park.
Thousands of visitors will flock to Aberdeen this weekend for the city's 58th annual highland games.
Spectators will be treated to the usual mix of athletics, piping and highland dancing, while TV favourite Mr Bloom will be on hand to entertain the youngsters.
The games attract upwards of 10,000 visitors and inject tens of thousands of pounds into the local economy.
Douglas Lumsden, Aberdeen City Council co-Leader, said: "Regularly attracting over 10,000 visitors, Aberdeen's Highland Games is a special combination of traditional highland games events, alongside family entertainment making it a wonderful day out.
"For decades it has been popular with local residents as well as visitors from far and near, making it a very important part of the city calendar.
"As a council we have invested significantly in bringing new events to Aberdeen - including Spectra, Nuart Aberdeen, Tour Series cycling and the Great Aberdeen Run - but the traditional events are the foundations we are building upon and it is fantastic to see the Highland Games thriving.
"Events, new and traditional, are vitally important to our ambitions for enhancing Aberdeen's reputation as a destination as well as fostering the community spirit that is so strong amongst our residents. It promises to be a brilliant day."
The games get under way from 10am on Sunday at Hazlehead Park.
