Motorists face week of disruption as A90 junction closes
Transport Scotland are advising road users to consider their journeys.
Motorists are facing disruption as a junction on the A90 closes for a week.
The A975 Newburgh Road (the existing A90 Junction) at Rashiereive will close from seven days from 6am on Thursday, June 14 until 6am on Wednesday, June 20.
This closure is to allow the contractor to safely complete the new section of the A975 at its new tie-in with the existing A90.
Due to the location of the closure and its proximity with the public road network to the north of the closure, there will be a number of diversionary routes in place.
This closure follows the new Balmedie Link Road opening to traffic from 6am on Thursday to enable drivers to access residences and businesses on the existing A90 from the new Balmedie Junction via Belmedia village.
A representative for Transport Scotland said: "While these works are on-going, signage will be in place to inform road users of the changes to road layout.
"This signage should be observed to ensure their own safety, the safety of other road users and also road workers.
"We would suggest that road users consider this closure before they start their journeys to ensure they can reach their destination safely and on time."
