A child's buggy, a van and a caravan have all been set on fire in Dundee.

The three wilful fireraisings happened in the St Mary's and Ardler areas of Dundee on Thursday evening.

A child's buggy was set on fire in a close in St Mungo's Terrace, St Mary's at about 9.40pm and a caravan was set on fire in St Fillans Road shortly after 10pm.

A van was then set on fire in Scotscraig Grove, Ardler, between 10pm and 10.20pm.

Police Scotland said that although the incidents are not being directly linked at this time, the possibility of them being connected is being considered.

Officers are looking to trace a man in his 30s, about 6ft tall with short spiky hair, wearing a grey hoody, sun glasses and with a local accent.

The man was seen in the area before the first incident in St Mung's Terrace, and was seen walking away from the street when the first first started.

A representative for Police Scotland said: "The danger caused by these three fires, particularly the one in the communal close in St Mungo's Terrace, cannot be overstated.

"Fortunately all three fires were extinguished relatively quickly."
