Workshops are being held in Dundee to help develop pre-writing skills in young children.

The Little Scribblers events are being run by NHS Tayside's occupation therapy team and will see youngsters being shown how to grip pencils and develop finger strength.

Each session lasts for an hour and includes different stations for parents and their children to work at, focusing on the key skills that children need to develop their writing skills.

Parents who attend will be given exercises so their children can continue to practice at home.

NHS experts said that by doing these activities at home, parents can help their children's handwriting development.

The workshops are aimed at children aged between three and five.

The first was held at the Lochee Community Hub on Tuesday with a second taking place at the Ardler Complex on Thursday June 21.
